Recreational and medical Marijuana legalization appeared on ballots in nine states on November 8. How did it fair among a wide range of voters is anyone’s guess at the moment. But one thing is for sure, President-Elect Trump is all for it, albeit that states should be in charge for their own policies and behaviors. So where does President Trump stand on medical marijuana…

Arizona, California, Massachusetts, Maine, and Nevada, will be voting to legalize recreational marijuana; while Florida, Arkansas, North Dakota, and Montana will be voting on legalizing medical marijuana.

So Where Does President Trump Stand on The Legalization of Marijuana?

Glad you asked, he’s stated that he supports legal access to medical marijuana, and believes states should be able to set their own marijuana policies with regard to adult use.

“We’re losing badly the War on Drugs. You have to legalize drugs to win that war. You have to take the profit away from these drug czars.” Miami Herald – April 14, 1990

During an interview, Bill O’Reilly called medical marijuana a “ruse” and Trump replied: “But I know people that have serious problems and they did that they really it really does help them.” The O’Reilly Factor – February 12, 2016

Are the Trumps the New Kennedys?

Only time will tell when it comes to any new President and President-Elect Trump is no different than the other 44 before him. With a firm stance on issues and open mind, we think he may just be headed in the right direction when it comes to legalizing medical marijuana in the United States.

“In terms of marijuana and legalization, I think that should be a state issue, state-by-state. Marijuana is such a big thing. I think medical should happen – right? Don’t we agree? I think so. And then I really believe we should leave it up to the states.” Washington Post – October 29, 2015

It’s mind boggling why anyone would even want to run for office. Could you imagine having to appease millions of different people with a different thought process on how the country should be run? At least this is a step in the right direction in terms of having an outsider shake things up.

We understand some people might not like our views on the topic, but also wondering if these people even voted? If you read anything that Wikileaks was putting out, you’d understand why Donald J. Trump won, and why Bernie Sanders was cheated out of his chance as well. If you ignore the information given to you and believe what a pundit has to say, you’ve totally ignored what was happening.

“I’d say regulating marijuana is bad. Medical marijuana is another thing, but I think it’s bad and I feel strongly about that. If they [the states] vote for it, they vote for it… But I think, medical marijuana, 100%.” C-SPAN – June 23, 2015

Given the mood of the country right now, if those hard-pressed to wrap their head around the electoral process might consider being more involved, vote regardless and light up.
